Nominative Case

Nominativ

The nominative case is used for the subject of a sentence - the person or thing doing the action.

ARTICLES IN NOMINATIVE:
Masculine: der / ein
Feminine: die / eine
Neuter: das / ein
Plural: die / keine

The subject answers: WER? (who?) or WAS? (what?)
Examples
Der Mann liest.
The man reads. (Who reads? The man)
Eine Frau singt.
A woman sings. (Who sings? A woman)
Das Kind spielt.
The child plays. (Who plays? The child)
